A True Testament Sermon
End Times, Israel, and Are We In Them?
What the Father's parousia actually is — and what your cable news pastor is selling you instead
I — The Question Everyone Is Quietly Asking
Let me ask you something honest, the way you would ask it at midnight when no one is watching: are we in the End Times?
You have heard the answer a thousand ways. You have seen the cable charts with arrows pointing at modern nation-states. You have watched preachers stand in front of CGI temples explaining which headline matches which trumpet. You have walked past the bookstore display of yet another novel about who gets left behind. And somewhere underneath all of it, the question has not actually been answered. It has only been monetized.
I am going to give you the True Testament answer, and I am going to give it to you straight. Yes — we are in the End Times. We have been in them for nearly two thousand years. The End began the moment the Father broke into the Creator's domain in the person of Christ and was staked for it. Everything since then is the aftershock. Everything since then is the rescue already underway. You are not waiting for the End Times to begin. You are living inside them, and the only real question is whether you can see it.
If that lands strangely, good. It is supposed to. Because the End Times that the prophecy industry has sold you for the last hundred and fifty years is a movie about the Creator's domain — wars, flags, temples, tribulations. The End Times that Paul actually preaches in the True Testament is a rescue operation by a God the Creator did not even know existed. Different story. Different ending. Different God.
II — What the End Actually Is
Start with what Paul actually writes, not what your study Bible's footnotes have done to it. The clearest eschatology in our canon is in 1 Thessalonians 4. Read it the way Paul wrote it, without the dispensational scaffolding glued on top:
"We do not want you to be ignorant, brothers and sisters, about those who have fallen asleep, so that you will not grieve like the rest who have no hope. For if we believe that Christ died and was raised, so also God will bring with him those who have fallen asleep in Christ. For we declare to you by the word of the Lord that we who are alive and remain until the presence of the Lord will not precede those who have fallen asleep. For the Lord will descend from heaven by a command of God with the voice of an archangel and with the last trumpet, and the dead will be awakened first. Then we who remain for the presence of Christ will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and so we will always be with the Lord. Therefore, encourage one another with these words."
— TT 1 Thessalonians 4:13–18
Notice what Paul does not say. He does not say the Lord descends to rule the Creator's earth from a refurbished Jerusalem throne. He does not say He sets up a thousand-year political administration headquartered in the Middle East. He does not say He defeats geopolitical enemies. He says the opposite. He says the Lord descends, and we go up to meet Him, and we are always with the Lord. The motion is one direction — out. Out of this domain. Into the Father's Aeon. Extraction.
That word matters. The parousia — the presence, the visibility, the arrival — is not the Father moving into the Creator's house. It is the Father pulling His own out of it. The rescued dead are already with Him in His Aeon — they went the instant they died, because the rupture is not undone by a heartbeat stopping. The living who remain are gathered up in the air. The flesh is left behind, because the flesh is the Creator's loan. Paul does not describe a zombie reanimation of corpses being stitched back together. He describes a body of grace meeting the Lord in the air, where the Creator has no jurisdiction.
That is the End. Not the Creator's victory tour. The Father's evacuation.
III — Who the "Man of Lawlessness" Actually Is
Now turn to 2 Thessalonians 2, which the prophecy industry has spent a century turning into a thriller about a future European politician. Read it again with the Marcionite lens on:
"Let no one deceive you in any way, for that day will not come unless the defection comes first and the person of fault is revealed, the one bound to perishing. He exalts himself above everything called a god and every object of reverence, so that he sits in the temple of God, displaying himself as God."
— TT 2 Thessalonians 2:3–4
Stop and look at that figure. He exalts himself above every other god. He sits in the temple. He calls himself God. He is bound to perishing. Tell me honestly — does that sound like a future Antichrist with a microchip implant, or does it sound exactly like the figure who has been doing this from Genesis forward? "I am the Lord, there is none beside me." "I am a jealous God." "You shall have no other gods before me." The "person of fault" is not a coming villain. He is the incumbent. He is the Creator, finally unmasked.
I know that is heavy. Sit with it. Paul is not warning you about a man who will sit in a rebuilt third temple in some future news cycle. Paul is describing the spirit that has been sitting in the temple the whole time, demanding worship as God, jealous of every other allegiance, performing power and signs and demanding sacrifice. The "defection" — the great falling-away — is not the rescued leaving the Father. It is the rescued seeing the Creator for what He is and walking out. The defection is the recognition. The defection is us.
Which reframes the so-called "rapture" entirely. The extraction is not the Father saving you from the Antichrist. It is the Father saving you from the Creator. You are not being airlifted past a future tyrant. You are being airlifted past the present one.
IV — There Is No National Israel in the End
This is the part that will lose me half my Christian Zionist neighbors, and I am at peace with that, because Paul wrote it before I did. Hear him on what "Israel" means in the new aeon:
"For neither circumcision nor uncircumcision is anything, but a new creation. Peace and mercy be upon all who walk by this rule, and upon the Israel of God."
— TT Galatians 6:15–16
The rule is the new creation. The Israel of God is the people who walk by that rule. Paul could not be more explicit. He has just told you that circumcision and uncircumcision — the entire ethnic and ritual category — is nothing. Zero. Then in the very next breath he names the Israel of God. He is not contradicting himself. He is telling you exactly who the Israel of God is. It is the body of the rescued. It is the new creation. It is not a flag, a border, a parliament, or a temple blueprint.
Now hear him three chapters earlier, where he nukes every category at the root:
"There is no Jew or Greek, no slave or free, no male or female, for all of you are one in Christ."
— TT Galatians 3:14
Once the rupture has cancelled the category in chapter three, you cannot smuggle it back in chapter six. The Israel of God in 6:16 is not the Israel of Genesis or the Israel of CNN. It is the rescued, of every bloodline and no bloodline, who walk by the new-creation rule.
Hear me carefully, because this part is easy to misuse. This is not a word against Jewish people. It is not a word against any people. The Father's grace falls on every soul — Jew, Gentile, atheist, prisoner, your neighbor, you. The point is not that one ethnicity is in and another is out. The point is that ethnicity is not the door at all. Anyone who tries to make a flag into a sacrament — Israeli, American, any other — is preaching the Creator's gospel, not the Father's. The Father does not have a foreign policy. He has a rescue.
So when a pastor tells you that the modern nation-state of Israel is the prophetic clock and that every news flash from the region is a tick — he is reading a different book than Paul wrote. Paul's clock has one hand and it already moved. The hand moved at the staking.
V — The Prophecy Industry Is a Creator-Loyalty Test
Let me be plain about the cottage industry that has grown up around this stuff, because somebody needs to be. The rapture-novel empire. The blood-moon livestream. The newsletter that has been promising "any minute now" for forty years and is still cashing checks. The chart that overlays Daniel's weeks onto the Treasury yield curve. The seminar that costs $499 and ships you a survival bucket. I am not naming names. I am describing an entire genre.
Here is what that genre actually does, theologically. It keeps your eyes on the Creator's domain. It trains you to find God in the headlines — in wars, in earthquakes, in elections, in geopolitics, in the small print of central-bank policy. Every news cycle becomes a divine breadcrumb. Every disaster becomes a hint. And the more you watch, the more invested you become, and the more invested you become, the more your worship drifts — without you ever quite noticing — toward the God whose domain you are watching.
That God is not the Father. The Father is not in the headlines. The Father is not in the news ticker. The Father broke into this domain once, in Christ, and was killed for it, and is now pulling His own out. The news is what the Creator's house looks like while it collapses. Watching the rubble fall is not the same as watching God.
Paul says it plainly in the very next verses of 2 Thessalonians 2:
"His coming is according to the operation of the Adversary, with all power and signs and deceptive wonders, and with every deception of wickedness for those who perish, because they did not receive the love of the truth so as to be rescued."
— TT 2 Thessalonians 2:6–7
Power. Signs. Deceptive wonders. If your spiritual life runs on signs and wonders and headline-reading, you are inside the deception, not outside of it. The Father's people are not formed by sign-watching. They are formed by the love of the truth — the rupture itself, the Father's grace landing in a soul that did nothing to earn it. That is the only sign that matters, and it is happening inside you, not on television.
VI — What the Real Sign Actually Is
People want signs. Fine. Let me give you one.
The real sign of the End is not war. War has been the Creator's house specialty since Cain. The real sign is not earthquakes. The earth has been buckling since it was poured. The real sign is not famine, plague, eclipse, or comet. Those are not omens. Those are weather inside a dying domain.
The real sign is this: you are reading this and something in you is saying yes. That recognition — that small, quiet, undeniable lift in the chest when the Father's name is spoken correctly — that is the sign. The Spirit's witness in you that you are not from here. The pull toward a God you did not invent and did not choose. The way the Creator's threats stop having teeth once you see who is making them. That is the eschatological event. That is what Paul means when he says the love of the truth rescues. The sign is happening in your interior life right now, while the cable charts roll on without you.
If you want a marker for whether the End Times are advancing, do not look at Tel Aviv. Look at your own heart. Has the rupture happened? Then the End has reached you. Has it not yet? Then it is on the way, because the Father does not miss.
VII — No Hell at the End. No Nation Forever Blessed. No Soul Forever Lost.
I have to clean up one more orthodox mess before we land. The End Times sermon you grew up with had a hell at the bottom of it. It had a list. It had a final, irreversible separation. And it almost always had a nation on the right side and a nation on the wrong side.
None of that is in the True Testament. Hear me. The Father's parousia is not a courtroom that sorts humanity into eternal categories. The Creator's domain is decay — that is what it does, that is all it does — and souls without the rupture are perishing there until the Father reaches them. Perishing is not torture. It is not active flames. It is the slow unmaking that happens when a soul has nothing to hold it up. And the Father's parousia is the answer to it. The extraction is universal. Every soul, eventually, is rescued. The patriarchs who never knew Him. The Twelve who never quite let go of the Law. The believer next to you in the pew. The person you cannot stand. Every one of them, in the Father's time, lifted out.
Which means there is no nation forever blessed, because no soul is rescued by passport. And there is no nation forever cursed, because no soul is left behind by passport either. The flag does not matter at the End. The bloodline does not matter at the End. The rupture matters. The Father's grace matters. The rescue matters. And the rescue is going to reach everyone, because the Father is who He says He is.
If that costs you a few prophecy-chart certainties, mourn them, and then let them go. They were never holding you up. The Father was.
VIII — So Are We In Them Now? Yes. Now What Do You Do?
Back to the original question, because you came here for an answer and you deserve one. Are we in the End Times now? Yes. You have been in them since the day the Father's grace first reached for you, and the world has been in them since the staking. The clock has been moving the whole time. You just had it on the wrong wall.
So what do you actually do?
You do not stockpile. The Father's people are not preppers; the Creator's domain is not somewhere you fortify, it is somewhere you are leaving. You do not date-set. Every date the prophecy industry has ever picked has been wrong, and that is not a bug, it is the genre. You do not wrap your faith in a flag, any flag. You do not let a headline become your liturgy. You do not let panic become your devotional life.
Here is what you do. You walk by the rule of the new creation. You love the people who do not love you first, because that is what the Father did and that is the only way anyone has ever recognized Him. You report crimes to the Creator's authorities, because we are still under His weather and His police, and we do not pretend otherwise. You treat your marriage and your friendships and your assembly as small embassies of the Father's Aeon — outposts of grace inside a domain that does not understand grace. You speak the truth about the two Gods plainly, the way Paul did, even when it costs you. And you let the parousia find you doing the work of love, not the work of fear.
That is the End Times faithfulness. Not bunkers. Not charts. Not flags. Grace, lived out loud, while the extraction comes.
IX — Benediction
So hear this, if you hear nothing else today.
The Father is already here for you. The rescue is already underway. The rupture in your chest is not a glitch — it is the parousia making contact. You do not need a calendar. You do not need a chart. You do not need to know the hour, because the hour has already reached you and the Lord whose presence you are waiting for is already pulling you home.
Encourage one another with these words.
Peace and mercy be upon all who walk by this rule, and upon the Israel of God.
