License
Free to share
Every book in our Library is free to read, download and pass on. W. C. Muenchow IV keeps the copyright, and each book carries a Creative Commons license that says what anyone may do with it without asking. The terms are below in plain words.
CC BY-NC-ND 4.0
The True Testament and our books
You may copy and share it freely in its complete, unaltered form, as long as you do not sell it and you credit the author.
You may
- Copy the book and share it with anyone, in print or as a file
- Print copies for a church, a study group or a class
- Quote from it, with credit
You may not
- Sell it or charge for copies
- Change, shorten or rearrange it and share the result
Quoting the True Testament
Up to 500 verses may be quoted without asking, in sermons, books, articles and other works, including works for sale, as long as they do not make up a complete book of the True Testament and the True Testament is credited.
Books under this license
CC BY-NC 4.0
Our translations
You may copy, share and adapt it, including quoting long passages or building on the translation, as long as you do not sell it and you credit the translator.
You may
- Copy the translation and share it with anyone
- Quote it in your own books, articles and theses, including books for sale
- Revise the English or build new work on it, not for sale
- Print copies for a church, a study group or a class
You may not
- Sell the translation itself, or a revised version of it
Quoting our translations in your own work
Scholars and authors may quote our translations in their own books, articles, theses and lectures, including works for sale, without asking, as long as the translator and the book are credited and the quotations from any one of our books add up to less than a tenth of it. Publishing the translation itself, or a larger part of it, for sale needs permission.
How to give credit
Name the book, W. C. Muenchow IV as author or translator, and truetestament.org. For example:

Anything else
For uses these licenses do not cover, such as selling copies, or translating or revising one of the books under CC BY-NC-ND, write to license@truetestament.org.
The data on our Open Data page is under CC BY 4.0, which also allows commercial use with credit. Long passages of book text inside those files follow the book's own license. Greek, Latin and German source texts are in the public domain.
